Overview

Collegium Pharmaceutical, Inc. is a specialty pharmaceutical company developing and commercializing next generation, abuse-deterrent products for the treatment of patients suffering from chronic pain and other diseases. As a result of continued growth, we have a need to hire a Senior Manager of Medical Information to support initiatives within the Medical Affairs team.

Responsibilities

 The Sr. Manager of Medical Communications plays a key role at Collegium leading publications, serving as the internal Medical reviewer, and supporting Medical Information.

  • Publications:
    • Support development of publication strategies and plans
    • Leading and/or contributing to the development of publications, including the management of supporting vendors
    • Leading and supporting cross-functional alignment meetings
    • Contributing to congress-specific activities
    • Maintaining and updating the library of key publication resources
    • Lead incorporation of Publications in Medical Science Liaison (MSL) tools
  • Internal Medical Reviewer
    • Point for medical aspects of the global Medical/Legal/Regulatory (MLR) materials review process
    • Conduct day-to-day medical responsibilities of the MLR process for promotional materials and review process for non-promotional materials.
    • Conduct medical review for disease state materials
    • Collaborate with other members of Medical Affairs team to ensure MLR activities are completed efficiently
  • Medical Information
    • Creates, maintains and optimizes Standard Response Letters (SRLs) by ensuring that responses are medically and scientifically accurate, timely, fair balanced, and meet customers’ needs
    • Exhibits comprehensive knowledge of the Medical Information (MI) work and processes as well as good understanding of other internal stakeholders
    • Researches and analyses scientific information to answer escalated MI inquiries
    • Analyzes inquiry data to identify trends and communicates relevant information to the cross-functional team
    • Facilitates the development and maintenance of formulary-related documents in support of improving access to state Medicaid and managed care formularies

 

Qualifications

 

  • BA/BS required
  • PhD, PharmD or MD in a biological science or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience at pharmaceutical company or medical communications agency.
  • 2 years of experience within medical affairs roles (e.g. Medical Science Liaison, Medical Information, Medical Communications, Publications, Post-Doctoral medical communications residency or fellowship) preferred
  • Knowledge of the Pain Management disease area is preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of Word, Access, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Ability to work well in with cross-functional groups and in a matrix organization.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Experience interacting with vendors and managing projects
  • Demonstrates effective relationship management and customer orientation
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to work in a fast paced environment
  • Some knowledge and understanding of the pharmaceutical clinical development and commercialization process;
  • Familiarity with regulatory and legal guidelines regarding medical communications strategy and execution
