The Company is actively seeking a Director of Search & Evaluation, Business Development, to join our rapidly-growing team in Canton, MA.


    The Director of Search & Evaluation supports Collegium’s Business Development (BD) goals by executing strategic opportunities from academic institutions and biotech/pharma companies for potential research and development collaborations, in-licensing, and acquisitions. The Director of Search & Evaluation will support these efforts through developing and executing all aspects of the external BD strategy for potential licensing opportunities. This is a very attractive opportunity for an experienced biotech/pharma industry professional that enjoys a high energy, entrepreneurial environment, and a highly-visible role that offers a chance to make significant contributions towards Collegium’s BD goals.


    • Identifies, investigates, analyzes, and forms third-party relationships that create mutually beneficial business partnerships.
    • Ensures internal and external communication of Collegium’s external BD sourcing strategy, and represents the Company as a spokesperson at partnering and scientific conferences.
    • Builds and leverages a network of connections in the academic and biopharma industry to raise awareness of the Company's partnering objectives and capabilities.
    • Works constructively with key stakeholders and cross-functional teams to ensure effective communication, efficient decision-making, and completion of transactions in a timely manner.
    • Integrates input from various functional areas across the organization to create high quality, clear and concise due diligence reports and presentations with recommendations to the Executive Management team.
    • Presents findings and recommendations to senior leadership team, building rationale and consensus with the team.


    • Advanced degree in a scientific field.
    • 5+ years of research and development experience within a related field or equivalent combination of education and biotech/pharma experience in a Business Development role.
    • Demonstrated excellence in scientific evaluation.
    • Strong project management skills to ensure integration of multiple work streams, to manage data flow and confidentiality to ensure completion of rigorous evaluation within established timeframes.
    • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
    • Strong presentation skills to deliver recommendations and frame business case consideration to senior stakeholders internally and externally.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated track record and ability to drive results as an effective a team member and project leader.
    • Must demonstrate an energy and enthusiasm which brings a positive approach to all challenges.
    • Ability to travel as required to meet business needs.
