POSITION OVERVIEW

 

The Director, Forecasting & Commercial Analytics will be responsible for forecasting, business/commercial analysis & reporting. The main objective for the position is to understand and communicate the market dynamics for Collegium’s commercial business. This role will partner with Marketing & Sales, Market Access & Trade, Finance, and Commercial Operations to support current portfolio strategy. They will build forecasts, analyses, and reports to influence strategic and tactical business decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a systematic approach to create long-term market-based and event driven forecast models for commercial products and pipeline candidates to support the annual long-range planning process
  • Build and maintain short-term forecast models to establish commercial goals and enable the team to make appropriate strategic & tactical business decisions
  • Prepare analyses on market trends, competitors, Collegium product performance, market opportunities and risks, on a weekly / monthly / quarterly basis and ad hoc as needed

  • Participate in the cross-functional Competitive Intelligence team; monitor the landscape, formulate, and communicate key competitive insightsDevelop tailored presentations to appropriately articulate performance across a broad range of internal/ external audiences (e.g. Commercial leadership, Executive Committee, Board of Directors, Investors)
  • Develop collaborative and productive relationships cross functionally with Marketing, Market Access & Trade, Sales, Finance, and Supply Chain to gain a complete and thorough understanding of market landscape and commercial potential and contribute to functional planning
  • Develop and implement statistical methodologies and analytical approach for utilizing various data (syndicated demand, trade, customer relationship management, etc.) to improve the predictive value of analyses
  • Provide data-based recommendations and analytical support to address senior management business questions, particularly where data is difficult to access or unreliable and where a high level of analytical skill is required
  • Collaborate within Commercial Operations to ensure data integrity and accuracy in reporting
  • Prepare and deliver internal presentations related to all forecasting and Commercial Analytics activities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related business or science field required, Master of Business Administration preferred
  • 5-7 years of experience in Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences required
  • Experience in forecasting, business/commercial analysis or investment banking or consulting experience required
  • Experience managing and leading internal and external pharmaceutical sales operations teams required
  • Previous work experience in finance preferred
  • High level of business acumen, advanced quantitative and written/oral presentation skills, and very detail-oriented
