POSITION OVERVIEW

The Human Resources Business Partner- Commercial will work closely with the Commercial management team and Human Resources (HR) Team to facilitate the activities necessary to meet HR and company objectives.  This role will execute the Human Resources strategy and support HR and Commercial initiatives.  They will own the relationship with commercial management to provide guidance and partnership on employee relations, performance management, talent processes, individual development planning, DEI, professional development, and organizational culture. They will partner with the VP, HR to continuously improve the employee lifecycle HR programs and processes including employee engagement, talent management and development across the commercial organization to meet the needs of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with Commercial Leadership to provide guidance and partnership on employee relations, performance management, talent processes, professional development, and organizational culture
  • Collaborate with talent acquisition and commercial leaders to identify and execute talent strategies to attract, identify, hire, develop, promote and retain top talent
  • Utilize consulting and coaching skills to influence, coach and provide feedback to employees at all levels
  • Mediate and resolve complex employee relations issues; conduct thorough and objective investigations as needed; Work closely with internal and external legal counsel to ensure employee relations processes and tactics are in compliance with employment laws in all states and municipalities in which we operate
  • Influence leaders to take short and long-term view on engaging talent processes including talent reviews, succession planning, leadership development and talent assessment
  • Support the design, development and execution of critical HR priorities, initiatives and projects (performance management, organizational design, DEI, talent reviews, workforce planning, talent initiatives)
  • Partner with internal and external resources to identify relationships, trends, and potential business impact; interpret data and communicate findings to HR team and commercial leadership; influence the evolution and utilization of data and analytics to inform business decisions and preferred talent outcomes
  • Develop and maintain project documentation such as timelines, work plans, calendars, and dashboards to provide visibility into project portfolio for the HR function, organize and facilitate project kick-off meetings, status meetings, other relevant project meetings, and After-Action Reviews
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in employee relations and talent management; serve as a mentor for the HR team
  • Collaborate closely with our internal HR teams as well as key stakeholders in Compliance, Finance, Sales Training, and Commercial Operations

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or relevant field is required, Master’s degree and CMP/SPHR preferred
  • 8-10 years of combined experience in Human Resources including Employee Relations, Talent Development, Talent Management, Diversity Equity & Inclusion, Talent Acquisition, Performance Management, HRIS, Compliance and at least 3 years of HR business partnering experience is required
  • HR business partner experience in a commercial Pharmaceutical or Life Sciences organization is strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to partner and collaborate with the business
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills
  • Substantial experience in navigating complex and sensitive employee relations scenarios and investigation management, follow through and resolution required
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and understanding of HR and industry related compliance requirements required
  • Exceptional project and vendor management skills, including ability to negotiate, manage and influence without direct reporting relationship
  • Exceptional critical thinking, qualitative and analytical/quantitative skills
