POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Accountant, Revenue will play a key role in building, maintaining, and scaling a gross-to-net revenue accounting model and process that that accurately records, reports, and discloses revenue in accordance with ASC 606.  This role will develop a deep understanding for some of Collegium’s most critical transactions and will translate detailed data into actionable information.   This role will work closely with various internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely revenue reporting. This role is a unique opportunity to work cross-functionally with other departments, including Commercial Finance, Market Access, Compliance, and Supply Chain, to help improve the overall transparency and accuracy of revenue accounting and reporting.    This role will report directly to the Senior Manager, Revenue Accounting.  This role will be a valued contributor who is overseeing some of Collegium’s most critical transactions.  This role will have significant opportunity for personal and professional growth. 

• Work with the Senior Manager, Revenue to build, maintain, and scale the gross-to-net revenue accounting process
• Work cross-functionally with colleagues from Commercial Finance, Market Access, Compliance, and Supply Chain to effectively calculate, record and report revenue
• Execute effective SOX controls that pertain to the revenue accounting process and correct any discrepancies in the process timely/effectively
• Develop deep understanding of Collegium’s business and translate this understanding into effective accounting documentation, including process narratives and SOX controls
• Prepare revenue-related account reconciliations
• Prepare revenue-related accounting memos as necessary
• Develop deep understanding of various systems used in the revenue accounting process (NetSuite, IQVIA, ValueCentric, etc.)
• Work directly with external auditors on relevant areas and provide leadership for team-related audit deliverables
• Identify opportunities to develop and utilize analytics that transform data into information
• Partner with other departments to ensure effective utilization of systems, application of Excel models/tools, reporting and information sharing, and overall compliance with revenue accounting
• Communicate clearly with explanations and clarifying questions
• Implement continuous improvements and solve routine problems
• Develop skills within a narrow technical domain, some independence
• Coach others and in some cases may have direct reports

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required, CPA preferred
• 2-4 years of related experience required, Big 4 public accounting experience in auditing preferred or 2 years working at a public pharmaceutical company
• Prior experience accounting or auditing pharmaceutical gross-to-net revenue process preferred
• Strong understanding of GAAP accounting concepts
• Experience auditing/working at/with public companies
• Experience effectively managing multiple priorities simultaneously and perform within deadlines
• Hands-on experience using Microsoft Excel at an advanced level
